There are a lot of measurements and careful planning involved if you want to make a car sit perfect and have the wheels fill up the wheel wells as much as possible. Another thing to worry about is the backspacing of the wheels. If the wheels come out too far, they will hit the top of the fender. If the wheels are recessed in too far, they look bad. A factory Mustang will have the car sit up more in the front. Personally, I think that looks horrible. The Wheels in the Front and Back are 18" x 8". The backspacing on the back wheels are just factory, however the front wheels have a 4.5" backspacing (Summit Racing Part Number: ARE-405886545). The rear tires are 255/55R18 and the front tires are 225/50R18. Here are some pictures of a rear wheel and it's spacing: Here are some pictures of a front wheel and it's spacing: The front sat a little too low, so I ordered a set of extended eyes that attach to the tops of the shocks included with the coilover kit. It raised the front of the car up by 1", which was perfect :) The brakes on the car are the Baer Track system. I paid extra to have the calipers chromed. The drilled and slotted 13" rotors are quite beautiful as well. Not only do the brakes look amazing, they also stop the car on a dime. Here is the list of parts used on this order: Charlie at Tubes-N-Hoses did a very professional job with the brake lines. All of the spots that may have possibility of rubbing, he helicoils on. He also put loops in the places that may have the possibility of flexing. He also put in a vacuum canister because the high compression engine did not put out enough vacuum for the brake booster. Lastly, an adjustable proportional valve with included brake light switch was put in (this is much nicer than having to deal with the brake light switch located on the brake pedal). All of this work vastly improved the brake performance. |
